Founder/ Head of School

Mrs. Brianne Hudak, M. Ed. is a sixteen-year veteran of education serving in public, private, and charter schools. She has a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in communications and theater along with a certification in gifted and talented education. Her master's degree is in educational administration and supervision, and she is pursuing a doctoral degree in educational leadership focusing on combating underachievement within the gifted population. She is passionate about gifted education and committed to holistic student success. Her roles have been quite diverse; she has taught PK3-5th grades, gifted and talented, single-gender, STEM, and theatre arts, and worked as a student activities director, curriculum and instructional specialist, dean of students, assistant principal, and K-12 school leader. Mrs. Hudak is a certified educational coach and consultant, educational entrepreneur, and a professional member of the Council for Exceptional Children- The Association for the Gifted (CEC-TAG), the North Carolina Association for the Gifted and Talented (NCAGT), the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC), the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children (WCGTC) and the Social-Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG) serving as a North Carolina state liaison.

The mission of Journeys School for the Gifted and Talented is to provide exceptional education to exceptional students in an exceptional school. Journeys independent school will meet students' unique needs holistically through personalized learning journeys in which they reflect, goal set, and master content based on their specific interests and approaches to learning.
